ETR - Resistance starters
Safe and smooth starting of slip ring motors
The ETR resistance starters are designed for slip ring induction motors with power ratings of up to 5,000 kW. Thanks to multi-stage resistance control, they ensure controlled torque and limited inrush current, protecting the system against overload.
Applications
ETR starters are used in drives such as:
- mills
- crushers
- conveyors
- mixers
- pumps
- compressors
- fans
— wherever smooth motor starting is required.
Design and functionality
The system includes:
- resistor banks
- contactors
- a microprocessor-based controller
- current and airflow monitoring systems
- cooling fans
Control and monitoring are provided by PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, DX369 Energotest), enabling:
- operational control
- temperature monitoring
- alarm signalling
- emergency shutdown
Operator interfaces are available in the form of control panels or LCD displays.
