Multiple triggering criteria
Up to 18 analogue inputs
Up to 84 binary inputs
Sampling rate up to 16 kHz
Optional PMU functionality
Based on many years of experience
The RZ-40 PMU recorder is a modern, multiprocessor electronic device designed to perform two primary functions:
- a recorder providing comprehensive data for power system analysis during faults and disturbances,
- an autonomous system for protection verification
A wide range of voltage and current measurement modules is available, as well as binary inputs with different voltage levels. This makes the RZ-40 PMU a highly flexible device suitable for a wide range of applications.
The number of analogue inputs is up to 18, while the maximum number of binary inputs can reach 140. The standard configuration includes 16 analogue and 36 binary inputs.
New features of the RZ-40:
The first recorder (RZ-30) developed by Energotest was introduced in 1999. Since then, the product has been continuously improved. The RZ-40 represents the culmination of this development.
Continuous recording
A key innovation is the improved data handling algorithm. The RZ-40 enables continuous transfer of data from RAM to CompactFlash memory during recording.
As a result, RAM size is no longer a limiting factor, allowing recording durations of up to tens of seconds (typically up to 60 seconds), even when recording simultaneously:
16 analogue channels
48 binary channels
sampling rate of 8 kHz
Trend recorder
The device includes a built-in trend recorder for network parameters. In this mode:
- sampling intervals range from 5 ms to 30 s
- recording duration can extend to several hours
Recording of internal logic states
In addition to recording external binary signals, the device can also record internal logic states (e.g. activation of analogue triggers).
This significantly simplifies root cause analysis based on the event log.
Recording of criterion values
Virtual channels can be defined to calculate values based on measured analogue signals and predefined formulas (e.g. power, impedance, frequency).
This greatly facilitates the analysis of protection system performance.
Test mode
In test mode, all recorded data is stored in a separate directory, clearly distinguishing it from data recorded during normal operation.
This enables safe and easy deletion of test data.
Recording lock
This function allows recording to be temporarily disabled in situations where it is not required, while maintaining all other functions such as real-time measurements and signal monitoring.
Software
The software (ET Manager) supplied with the recorders enables:
- connection to multiple recorders
- configuration, viewing and editing of settings
- monitoring of device status and measured/calculated values
- downloading and archiving recorded data
- graphical analysis of waveforms (scaling, clipping)
- creation of virtual channels
- printing and exporting data to text format
This software is included as standard with the recorder.
The utility software for the RZ-40 and RZ-40 PMU, called ET Manager, is a free program
and can be installed on any number of devices.
The advantages of the RZ-40 recorder:
- continuous recording (up to 60 seconds)
- optimal number of inputs (standard: 16 analogue, 36 binary)
- high accuracy (0.5%) and 16-bit resolution
- high sampling rate (up to 16 kHz)
- simultaneous sampling on all channels
- advanced and user-friendly software
- galvanic isolation of input signals
- continuous data transmission
- wide measurement range
- input adaptation to field signal levels (no additional matching circuits required)
- recording of calculated values (RMS, power, symmetrical components, etc.)
- recording of events for binary inputs and internal signals
- trend recording (from 5 ms to 30 s intervals)
- wide range of triggering criteria
- precise time synchronisation (GPS, Ethernet SNTP, sync pulse)
- data storage in COMTRADE format
- CompactFlash storage (no moving parts – long lifetime)
- direct Ethernet communication
- configuration and visualisation via operator panel
- low power consumption
It is possible to rent the recorder free of charge.
