We invite you to the latest interview in the series "SPIE Energotest - People and Energy", in which we talk to Katarzyna Zych - Head of Product Sales and Cabinet Prefabrication at SPIE Energotest.
Please tell us about your role at SPIE Energotest - what do you do on a day-to-day basis and how does your work impact the company?
On a day-to-day basis, I am responsible for a team that prepares product offers and handles order fulfilment.
I work with technical teams to tailor our solutions to the specific needs of customers - often very complex and demanding.
In my opinion, it is sales that opens doors to new projects and builds long-term relationships with partners. That is why I try not only to "sell", but first and foremost to advise and build trust.

What challenges in the energy industry do you find most inspiring or difficult and how do SPIE Energotest products help solve them?
For me, projects that have a real impact on the functioning of the power system in Poland, such as the supply of protection cabinets for the Choczewo substation, are particularly inspiring.
This is a project of strategic importance that requires precision, coordination and a full understanding of the client's needs. Prefabricated cabinets, although they often remain invisible at first glance, are responsible for the stability, safety and reliability of the entire energy infrastructure. Such projects demonstrate the importance of cooperation between technical, sales and design teams.
SPIE Energotest is renowned for its innovative solutions - which products or technologies do you particularly like and why?
I am most impressed by our APZplus automatic power switching unit. It is an exceptionally responsible product because it secures reliable power switching in facilities sensitive to interruptions including critical infrastructure facilities - for example, power plants, steel mills and petrochemicals.
Customers have valued it for years for its operational reliability and the fact that it minimises the risk of downtime, which is absolutely crucial in such places. I am also proud of the market leadership and trust that SPIE Energotest has managed to build up in the area of power switching over many years of service in the market.
